Abstract
In horticulture, agriculture and forestry, vegetative propagation is used extensively to produce elite clones from breeding program and natural selection and rooting methods is one way to achieve this objectives.  NAA and IBA is the most common auxin being used to perform the rooting purpose in vitro.  Rooting in vitro use medium which is supplemented with auxin to the ½ MS basal medium, FeEDTA, micro nutrient and vitamin and sugar and sterilized using autoclaved.  The rooting medium  without auxin being autoclaved shows high rooting rate.  All treatment using from ½ MS NAA 0.6 ppm and IBA 0.6 ppm to 1/2MS NAA 2.4 and IBA 2.4 shows rooting rate from 82% to 92%.  This information gives a possible solution to difficult to root clones using the medium with auxin being autoclaved.

Introduction
F.W. Went (1935) use auxin for the first time to develop his theory using Avena sp shoot tip to identify and quantify the biological activity of growth hormone-auxin.  Auxin was identified as  Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) in 1934 and making plant tissue culture possible (Arditti, J., Yam, T.W.  2009)
Practical application of auxin for root initiation becomes possible when the discovery of a fact that auxin also able to promote root initiation when added to the cut surfaces of cutting (De Klerk et al, 1999).  IBA is the most widely used commercially, followed by NAA and IAA, Rhizopon produces 80% IBA and the rest is the other auxin.
IAA continuous to be used in plant tissue culture inspite of evidence  suggesting that it is unstable.  The use of auxin, such as IBA, Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), and 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid, has increased because they often appear to be more effective than IAA for
Induction of morphogenic responses.  This enhanced effectiveness of auxin other than IAA is presumed to be due to their stability.  IBA is preferred for adventitious root induction in woody species   grown in vitro, since it is more effective (Nissan and Sutter, 1990).
Clones Wk 013 Eh is a hybrid between E grandis x E pellita which has low rooting percentage (less than 50%) using medium B2RE (Makro B2RE + NAA 1 + IBA 0.5).  Medium B2RE are sterilized using autoclaved for 20 minutes and used on daily basis for rooting activities.
An approach have been conducted to improve the rooting percentage in rooted shoot of this eucalyptus clone using this short communication reported i.e. ‘post autoclaved hormone application’.  Hormone NAA and IBA are added to hormone free ½ MS medium in several concentration to see the best concentration of hormone that will bring the highest rooting percentage.

Materials and Methods
Hormone free ½ MS medium were prepared using ½ MS Salt, micro MS, FeEDTA, Vit MS, Myo inositol, sugar 20 g/l and agar.  Medium are adjusted to pH 5.8 using NaOH 1 N.  One day later the semisolid medium were prepared for the  application of hormones.  NAA and IBA stock (1000 ppm) are being prepared by dissolving 0.1 g NAA or IBA using a few drops of NaOH I N with stirring gently  until dissolved completely and add deionized water to reach 100 ml volume.
Treatment for hormone is being done using sterilized pipette (autoclavable pipette and fin tips) according to the treatment (Table 1.) by putting the hormone stock on the semisolid media surfaces.  The media were later heated up using microwave oven for 1’30’’ (1 minute 30 second) to liquefy the semisolid medium so the hormone can mixed through, and rest them to solidify again.  One day later the medium was used for rooting micro shoot.  Each vessel contain 10 micro shoot, average shoot selected is 2-3 cm.  All the rooted shoots were incubated in growth room with temperature 20-26oC and light intensities 2800 lux using white fluorescence lamp
Assessment fro rooting rate was conducted 14 days later by calculating the number of shoot that produces shoot with root and count the percentage.  The data were processed using simple statistic (Sigma Zone).  The rooted shoot was later transplanted to the nursery.

Lesson Learned from Japan breeding for superior grape, might as well applied on our eucalyptus

But, it take 100 year for Japan to established their own superior Clone.  The introduction of first planting of grape from France, vanished.  Sending scholar to France to learn the technology.

Back home they started to develop their clone, extense hybridization are conducted, hundred of test are being conduted,

they finally have Koshu wine............Muscat Baily crossing

Should inspire me to do the same to Eucalyptus, do not expect quick result.
Easy come easy go.

Facing Up History-gara gara nonton tayangan NHK Doc Oliver Stone in Japan

Facing up History

War is nasty.  We should not hesitate to say no to war.  I never enter any war before, but I do enter the the imagination of a war hero in my childhood.  There is glory in winning the war, there is shame on defeat.  The civilian mostly dispose out of their home, from belonging, family and worst lost their life.
Life is precious, but in war, human life so degraded that they lost the meaning of existence.
Threathning, betrayal, denial, terror, crushed to the edge, drowning, sentenced, collaborator, annihilation, murder, torture all these words to express the situation at certain point.
Try to remember the A-Bom.  The atomic bomb have bring new meaning to war.  The word escalated into ‘catastrophy’, the end of the world, the end of humanity.
A tsunami killed 200 000 instantly, a nuclear bomb, with advanced technology, could bring thousands tsunami beyond my imagination.  Enough Hiroshima, enough Nagasaki.
Ini just scratches, berandai-andai menjadi global strategy department head.
Japan and Korea militarization to contain China.  Sama seperti Uni Soviet dulu, Amerika memiliterisasi Jerman Barat dengan NATO-nya ‘to contain Soviet Union’.

BOOK REVIEW

- Title: The Prince and the Poor Boy

- Author: Mark Twain
- Year of Publication: -First edition: 1978
-My edition: 1992
- Characters:
- The poor boy (Tom Canty): He is one of the two main characters. All his family is poor, and his father usually hits him. He is an intelligent boy, but he always wears rags. He lives in the poor part of the city.
- The Prince (Edward Tudor). He is the other main character. His father is Henry VIII, and he is very rich. He is the future king of England. He is compassionate and very similar to Tom Canty (they are like twins).
- Tom’s father: Tom Canty’s father. He is very aggressive with his son, he hits him a lot and he is always lying.
- Tom’s mother: She is Tom Canty’s mother. She is very friendly with her children, and she doesn’t like that her husband hits Tom.
- Tom’s sisters: There aren’t many things to say about them. They are two, and they believe the prince when he tells them he is the true prince.
- The King: He is Henry VIII. He is Edward Tudor’s father, the prince. He is a very strict king. So, a lot of people hate him.
-Miles Hendon: He is a knight, and he helps the prince in his adventure. He is very kind with the prince, but he doesn’t believe he is the prince until the end of the story.
-Synopsis of the story:
One day, two boys were born. They were called Tom Canty and Edward Tudor. Tom Canty was born in a poor family. However, Edward Tudor was born in a very rich family: the king family. He was designated to be the next England king.
Tom Canty’s father usually hit Tom. Tom always wore rags, and all his friends were also poor. One day, he visited king’s palace. He wanted to see The King, and he approached the gate. Then, a soldier saw and hit him, and all the people did the same. In that moment, the Prince saw what was happening and he invited Tom Canty to go into the Palace. He accepted. There, the Prince and Tom Canty changed their clothes, because Tom Canty wanted to look like a rich person. Then, the Prince went out of the room and a soldier saw him when he wore rags. And, as he and Tom Canty were very similar, the soldier thought it was Tom Canty, and he threw him out of palace.
Now, Tom Canty was like the Prince. But he missed his family, and a lot of people in palace thought he was the true prince, but he was mad (because he said he wasn’t the true prince, he didn’t know his father and his servants, he didn’t know French…). So, there were a lot of problems.
While that was happening, the true Prince went with Tom’s family. Tom’s father hit him, and the situation was uncomfortable. One day, he was lying to a person to get some money for his “family”, but he didn’t want to do it, so he told the truth. The good person got the thief and he could escape. After this, he met Miles Hendon, an ex-soldier who helped him to return to the palace. They had a lot of strange and exciting adventures.
The day of the crowning of the king (Henry the Eight had died some time ago), the true prince returned to the palace. And, as he and Tom Canty were kind of friends, they showed the true prince was Edward Tudor, and not Tom Canty.
Finally, Edward Tudor was crowned king, he did justice among the good and bad people and he named Tom Canty and Miles Hendon his assistants. They lived happily forever and ever.
My opinion
a) What did you like best/least? Why?
- The thing I liked best is when the prince and the poor boy change its characters and each one can live like the other. It’s very original.
- The thing I liked least is that the king dies and he can’t decide what happens with the future prince before he dies.
b) Was it funny? Why?
- Yes, I liked it a lot. It was very funny: a prince and a poor boy changing their personality. They lived a lot of interesting adventures, and a lot of curious things happened. I enjoyed reading this book.
c) Would you change anything in your tale? What?
- I don’t know very well if I would change something in my tale. Maybe I would change how the king decides the organization of the country.
