Aerides odorata (fox tail orchid) mature seed pod harvested 2 months ago. After surface sterilization using Sodium Hypochlorite, seed were incubated in 5 different medium.
The result shows that, medium contain hormones auxin and sitokinin seems to have inhibitory effect on growth. Mean while, seed grown in medium without hormone, in this trial using 1/2 MS medium produce better growth in terms of leaf development. Three complete leaves were developed, while on the other medium the explants shows no significant growth (remain stagnant).
We have transferred the newly developed explants into medium E6 and we will wait for the result (posted on 29 Dec 2013)
