Kalyani Dias • did you try ascorbic acid? a final cleaning before putting in culture and in the initiation media. How mature are the explants?

Ahmad Abdulkader • a mix solution of 100 mg/l Ascorbic acid with 50 mg/l Citric acid for 10-20 min. before the last wash of explants is helpful. Also, including the same amounts in the culture medium with 2 g/l Activated Charcoal is helpful. Try it.

with cut surface browning.which is solely due to the oxidative activities of various
phenolic compounds to quinones.Quinones are toxic to cells.Therefore,some simple
treatments either with anti oxidants/reducing agents could give you good results.
